With his parents having been married in Brentford, local musician Robert Hokum has had strong ties with the area all his life and has subsequently been creating music for the best part of 50 years. Founder of the Ealing Blues Festival, he’s played at every pub worth knowing in Brentford and today he’s frequently found playing the blues with his band at The Brewery Tap. Robert will treat guests to an evening of his signature sounds on 6th June at Made in Brentford’s Lates Beer & Blues event. So, what can visitors expect from an evening with Robert and his band?
“We play good time music. It’s fun, it’s entertaining, it’s foot-tapping music. We like the old blues songs that have got humorous tongue-in-cheek lyrics, so what you’ll get is something that is very rhythmic, very entertaining and the musicianship is of a very high quality.”
